The birth of an icon
In den 60er Jahren nimmt der Straßenradsport Fahrt auf. Gleichzeitig steigen die Ansprüche an Material und Technik. SKS Betriebsleiter Walter Scheffer erkennt das Potenzial und entwickelt eine robuste Hochleistungspumpe für Rennradfahrer. Es ist die Geburtsstunde des Rennkompressors. Eine Erfolgsstory, die bis heute anhält.
1969
Mission: Ready for the road
“One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.” The first moon landing inspires the world. While humanity looks up to the sky, the Rennkompressor stays firmly grounded. Stroke by stroke, it proves that dreams can come true not only in lunar dust, but also on asphalt.
1974
Orange plays in the premier league
In 1974, all of Germany had its eyes on the FIFA World Cup on home soil. But history was also being written beyond the football pitch. The Rennkompressor became indispensable in the peloton. In the team colour SKS orange, it proudly represents the brand and confidently plays in the premier league.
1989
The fall of the wall and a fashionable colour
Old borders fall, and the Rennkompressor in fashionable purple shows that durability and zeitgeist do not have to be a contradiction. Today, purple tracksuits are making a comeback. And the Rennkompressor? It doesn’t need a revival. While trends come and go, it remains what it has always been: solid and reliable.
2010
Stroke instead of hashtag
Social media becomes the digital stage, phone photos travel around the world and the iPhone makes life mobile. Right in the middle of this always-online world, the Rennkompressor remains refreshingly analog. Metal instead of megabytes, air instead of likes.
