SKS Bike Marathon 2025: A Perfect Start to the MTB Season

For over 20 years, the SKS Bike Marathon has been captivating mountain bikers. On April 26, 2025, the event returned once again, marking its annual season opener as part of the MEGA SPORTS Festival—delivering everything a mountain biker’s heart desires. Perfect weather, flowing trails, and festival vibes created a thoroughly successful event in Sauerland.

SKS GERMANY in the Thick of Things 

The race traditionally kicked off from the SKS factory grounds in Sundern. Under ideal weather conditions, around 900 athletes set off on the challenging route. SKS GERMANY itself was actively involved, with a 30-member team competing in company colors alongside an international field of cycling pros and recreational athletes. Participants could choose distances of 30, 55, or 100 kilometers, each route offering steep climbs, technical sections, and fast descents for a true mountain biking experience.

Goosebump Moments at the Finish Line 

All finishers received an SKS Finisher T-shirt as a keepsake of their successful participation at the finish area in Sundern-Hagen. Following the awards ceremony, a supporting entertainment program invited participants and visitors to celebrate, contributing to the iconic Mega Sports Festival atmosphere.

More Than Just a Race

The SKS Bike Marathon 2025 was much more than just a sporting competition—it once again proved to be the perfect launch to the MTB season: athletically demanding, excellently organized, and powered by a unique, vibrant atmosphere.
